Manila School Board met Thursday evening reviewing building plans, hiring a part-time employee, and reviewing financial reports.
The meeting was called to order by President Tony Crowell. Board members reviewed and accepted the financial reports and minutes of the regular and special November meetings.
Following an executive session, the board voted unanimously to hire Delbert Carter on a part-time basis as needed. Carter will be serving as a paraprofessional.
The board reviewed a brochure, "Knowledge Works," from a company making projections on what to expect in the future in education. Superintendent Pam Castor said it offers the hot spots, trends, etc.
Castor had the proposed building plans for the new junior high building for members to review. She said the plans will be sent to the state department for approval. The plans will be sent back to the board for suggestions on any changes they would suggest.
