Manila came away with two victories in senior girls basketball action last week, knocking off Brookland 65-24 on Monday night before coming back with a 52-47 victory over Weiner Tuesday night.
In the Lady Lions win over Brookland, Rebekah White recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Katie Veach also poured in 14 points. Manila led 35-15 at the half before taking a 61-19 lead into the final quarter. The Lady Lions remain unbeaten at 4-0 in 3A-3 Conference action.
Kimberly Wise pumped in 18 points to lead the Lady Lions past Weiner to improve Manila to 9-3 on the season. Michelle Daniel also hit double digits with 10 points while Katie Veach scored nine points and grabbed a game high 18 rebounds.
Manila led 31-22 at halftime and 37-30 after three periods. Manila also claimed the junior high contest with a 42-24 victory.
Buffalo Island Central fell to J.A. Fair 57-42 in non-conference senior boys action Friday night at the Monette Athletic Complex. T.J. Williams scored 15 points while Cameron Thompson added 12 to pace Fair (2-1).
J.A. Fair led 30-19 at the half and 46-29 at the end of three quarters.
BIC (4-4) was led by Terry Roach who scored 13 points while Lance Davis chipped in 10.
