Paragould

Mary Myrtle Overbay, 88, of Paragould died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006. She married Mardis Woodrow Overbay Dec. 26, 1942, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 2003. Mrs. Overbay taught at the Pawheen School and was a member of Forrest Grove General Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Kaye and Bill Holmes of Paragould, and Diana Masters of Clarksdale, Miss.; four grandchildren, Steve Holmes and his wife, Kathy, of Manteca, Calif., Linda Kaye Massey and her husband, Turner, of Rich, Miss., Michelle Guinn and her husband, Tim, of Paragould, Mardy Holmes and his wife, Julie, of Paragould; nine great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kara and Kala Holmes, Duncan, Shannon and Hannah Massey, Emily Guinn, Megan and Madison Holmes; two brothers, George Edgin of Arbyrd and Earnest Edgin of Leachville; three sisters, Bell Connell of Monette, Jessie Ruth Martin of St. Charles, Mo., and Christeen Littlefield of Leachville.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Louis, Henry, Roy, Barton and Jack Edgin; and two sisters, Rachel Lee Wright and Ella Mae McRoy.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Friday in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Zack Roberts and Paul Dubar officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

Pallbearers were Steve Holmes, Mardy Holmes, Tim Guinn, Turner Massey, Shannon Massey and Duncan Massey.
