Werlene Bazzill Hout, 80, of Monette died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Childress on June 11, 1926, she was a retired school teacher and had taught in Childress, Monette and Buffalo Island Central Schools. She was a member of Monette First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Maudie Bazzill, and a sister, Goldie Edgin.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Hout of Monette; a son, Terry Hout of Monette; and a sister, Louise Roberson of Owensboro, Ky.
A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Monette First Baptist Church with the Revs. Ken Brown and Captain Lovell officiating. Burial was in Macey Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Harrell, Lavell Pruitt, Franklin Smithee, Hamil Million, Bob Birando and Bob Hurst.
Honorary pallbearers were Bud Cannon, Gene Gathright, Ted Finley, W.T. Bibb, Robert Flannigan, Jody Brown, Kenneth Richardson, Rudolph Woodsmall and members of Monette First Baptist Church.
Arrangements were under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
