Jonesboro

Paul Harold Lamkin, 86, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, in NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Lunsford, he lived his entire life in the Northeast Arkansas area. He was a retired farmer and a mechanic for Massey Ferguson. He was also a member of Needham Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ruth Mantle Lamkin, a daughter, Shirley Lamkin, a son, Tommy Lamkin; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lee Onstead Lamkin of the home; five sons, Billy Lamkin and his wife, Bea, Larry Lamkin and his wife, Joyce, Roger Lamkin and his wife, Joyce, and James Lamkin and his wife, Wanda, all of Jonesboro, and Kenneth Lamkin and his wife, Sarah, of Lake City; a daughter, Paulette Bowden and her husband Charles, of Wichita Falls, Texas, and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Lamkin of Jonesboro; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Charles Dunaway, Tony Lamkin, Tony Simmons, Rodney Lamkin, Michael Lamkin and Brian Ellard.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with James Wells officiating. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery.
