Myrtle Thelma Farrar, 90, of Manila, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born Sept. 6, 1915, in Booneville, Miss., she was a homemaker and a member of West Ridge Baptist Church where she served as pianist.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Shamlin; her mother, Mandy Childress; her husband, Hershall Farrar; five sisters, Rosie Livingston, Essie Farrar, Lois Walley, Bessie Hart, and Leona Lindley; two brothers, Carl Shamlin and R.C. Shamlin; and three grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Martha Brewer of Manila, Lena Joe Tipton of Caraway and Diane Royer of Jonesboro; a son, Tony Farrar of Leachville; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Caraway with Brother Roy Kellems officiating. Burial was in Potters Cemetery in Lepanto.
Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola was in charge of arrangements.
