Robert Austin Sharp, 89, of Leachville, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at his home. Born at Kenton, Tenn., he was the son of the late Doss and Donnie Lovitt Sharp and had been a Leachville resident since 1937. He was a retired electrician with the former Ark-Mo Power Company and Columbia Carbon & Ribbon Company in Blytheville. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Leachville First Baptist Church and was a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Metcalf Sharp of the home; a son, Robert Sharp, Jr., of Richmond, Ky.; a daughter, Debbie Sharp Still, of Paragould; four grandchildren, Patrick Sharp of Fruitland, Fla., Courtney Lawrenz of Richmond, Matthew and Christian Still, both of Paragould; and two great-grandchildren, Timothy and Josh Sharp of Fruitland, Fla.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Friday at Howard Funeral chapel in Leachville with Rev. Rudy Davis officiating. Burial was with Masonic rites was held in Leachville Cemetery. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.howardfuneralservice.com.
