Betty Jane McGaughey Lewis, 65, of Paragould died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Arkansas Methodist Medical center. Born in Craighead County, she lived in Illinois from 1967-1989. She was a homemaker and a member of Brookland Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Dean Lewis of the home; a son, Brett Hoyer of Paragould; four daughters, Laurie Hoyer of Paragould, Teresa Brenner of Michigan, and Lisa Hogan and Regina Lewis, both of Tennessee; a brother, Charles McGaughey of Lake City; and five grandchildren, Jeremy Duke, Christina Duke, Louran Brenner, Morgan Brenner and Mitch Brenner.

She was preceded in death by a husband, Eldon Hoyer; her parents, Marvin and Jewell Rhama McGaughey; and four brothers and sisters.

The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Brother Everett Isom and James Wainscott officiating. Burial was in Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kelly McGaughey, Kevin McGaughey, Heath McGaughey, Kyle McGaughey, Gary Fitzgerald, Rick Hale and Mike Johnson.

Jeremy Duke served as honorary pallbearer.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Brookland Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
