Qualls seeks Monette mayoral seat

Jerry "Chub" Qualls has filed for the office of Mayor of Monette.

Qualls said he was encouraged by many residents of Monette to seek the office. He was hesistant to do so, but after much consideration stated, "I believe we are all put here to serve in some capacity, and I want to do this part."

Qualls is semi-retired and now has more time to devote to pubic office. He is currently curator of the Monette Museum and has served on many committees throughout his lifetime.

Qualls is an agent for Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company and contracts and services boll weevil traps one day a week. He also serves as part time minister and teacher at the Black Oak Church of Christ, where he and his wife Linda attend church.

"I'm asking the citizens of Monette to trust me with the office of mayor and I will not disappoint them. I will work very hard to make the City of Monette a better place to live," Qualls said.
