Estel Lee Johnson, 59, of Paragould, formerly of Cardwell, died Friday, June 9, 2006, at his home. Born at Cardwell, he was the son of the late Sidney and Virgie Winn Johnson and had been a Paragould resident for more than 20 years. He was retired from the Dana Corporation in Paragould and was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death a year ago by his wife, Wilda Anita Johnson.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Rebecca Johnson of Marmaduke; his daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Joey Potter of Paragould; his brother and sister-in-law, Virgel and Mary Faye Johnson of Cardwell; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Monday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Bishop D.G. Daniels officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Jack Sipes, Larry Lewis, Carlis Remington, Johnny Jack McDaniel, Ray Noel and Jim Hammon.
