Rubye Elias Rose Pearson, 94, of Napa, Calif., formerly of Leachville, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the home of her son in Napa. Born at Goobertown, she was the daughter of the late T.E. and Cassie Ann Hampton Rose, and was raised in Leachville, where her family settled and farmed for generations. After graduating form Leachville High School in 1932 she moved to Springfield, Mo., where she met and later married John E. Pearson. After they divorced in 1946, she never remarried but raised her two sons living in Springfield, Mo., Sarasota, Fla., Phoenix, Ariz., and Leacvhille, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Napa, Calif., for the past 26 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Rose, Ralph Rose, and Robert Rose, and a sister, Mary Rose Hitt.
She is survived by two sons, John Pearson of Napa, Calif., and Jim Pearson of Winter Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren, Michael Pearson, Anne Pearson Williams, Clara Jean Pearson Rakovitch, Daniel Pearson and Suzanne Pearson Sheckter.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Leachville Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Hudson officiating. Burial was under the direction of Howard Funeral service of Leachville.
