Edwin Chalmer Talley - Manila

Edwin Chalmer Talley, 93, of Manila, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at his home. Born at Broseley, Mo., he was the son of the late Robert and Arizona Brown Talley and was a former longtime resident of St. Charles, Ill. He was a retired painter and had been a Manila resident for the past 10 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Talley, in 1991; three brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Effie Lott Talley, of the home; four daughters, Ellen Faye Elsworth of Malden, Mo., Martha May Varney of New Burnside, Ill., Ima Jane Johnson of St. Charles, Ill., and Norma Jean Hayes of Broseley, Mo.; a stepson, Bill Atkinson of Jamesville, Wis.; four stepdaughters, Thelma Morris of Manila, Alice Brown of Charlotte, NC., Joann Rich of Manila, and Mavis Feldpausch of York, Penn.; 28 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held at noon Friday at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva, Ill., with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
