Samuel "S.E." Crews Jr. - Lake City

Samuel "S.E." Crews Jr., 73, of Lake City died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, in NEA Medical Center at Jonesboro. Born in Bay, he taught school at Bay and Arkansas State University and retired from Trumann High School. He attended Liberty Gospel Church.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Allred Crews, of the home; a daughter, Monica Smith, of Trumann; a brother, A.B. Scott, of Lake City; a sister, Inez Friend, of Jonesboro; and a granddaughter, Gracie Smith, of Trumann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Edward Crews Sr. and Oma Sutterfield Crews; sisters, Fern Conner and Faye McGough; and a stepsister, Evelyn Doty.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Earl J. Lawson and Roma Adams officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bryan Northcott, Tyler Northcott, Michael Vinson, Larry Vinson, Glenn Vinson and Miles Doyle. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Allred, Terry Allred and Paul Allred.
