Peggy Ruth Mathis, 76, of Leachville, widow of C.B. "Sonny" Mathis, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2005, at her home. Born at Monette, she was the daughter of the late Guyman and Gladys Gibson Nall and had lived most of her life in Leachville. She was a retired bookkeeper and member of the Leachville First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Mathis was also preceded in death by her grandson, T.J. Mathis.

She is survived by three sons, Claude "Butch" Mathis of N.M.; two daughters; Rose Marie Sanders of Hot Springs and Mary Beth Wheeler of Leachville; a brother; John Gray of Hot Springs; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service was 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Leachville with Rev. Donnie Hudson and Annette Hudson officiating. Private interment service will be conducted at a later date under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
