Richard Thacker - Leachville

Richard Thacker, 59, of Leachville, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Strawberry, he was the son of the late Jack and Grace Tanner Thacker. He was a 1967 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and has been a Leachville area resident for the past 40 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Thacker was a supervisor at Emerson Electric in Paragould.

Survivors include his wife, Edith "Sally" Thacker of the home; two sons, Brian Thacker of Leachville and Jerry Thacker of Leachville; a daughter, Joany Guiltner of Monette; a brother, Harold Thacker of Boydsville; seven sisters, Loveda Drury of Lafe, Shirley Drury of Lafe, Deloris Thacker of Smithville, Linda Swenson of Debary, Fla., Dee Carter of Lake Wells, Fla., Floreda Thacker of Paragould and Joyce Ann Malone of Rector; and five grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Terry Miller officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jerry Grant, Chad Carmichael, Kenny Carmichael, Ronnie Carmichael, Todd McCain, and Richard Garrett.
