Charles Douglas Hale - Manila

Charles Douglas Hale, 66, of Manila died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born in the Black Oak Community, he was the son of the late Charles Hale and had lived in Chicago, Ill., before returning to Manila in 1980. He was a former truck driver for Dvan Tool & Die and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Chicago.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ester Faye Hale.

He is survived by a son, Charlie Hale, of Bowling Green, Ky.; his mother, Lillian Hale of Manila; three sisters, Lavern Kelley and Mary Brooks, both of Manila, and Brenda Clay of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica and Nathan Hale.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Howard Funeral Chapel with Sister Glenda Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
