Dennis S. Gillmore, 60, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Cardwell, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at Memorial City Hospital in Houston. Born at Cardwell, Mo., he was the son of the late W.C. and Nina Gillmore. He was a 1964 graduate of Cardwell High School and received a B.S. degree in accounting from Arkansas State University in 1969. He was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity and the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He served three years in the U.S. Army including service at the Pine Bluff Arsenal and achieved the rank of captain. He had a distinguished career as an oil and gas consultant and was employed by the Kroger Company at the time of his death.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Miller.
He is survived by two sons, Travis William Gillmore and Scott Austin Gillmore, both of Texas.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cardwell Cemetery with Dwight Harrison officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
