Thomas Eugene Akins, 66, died Saturday Jan. 28, 2006 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro after a brief illness. He was born on Sept.17, 1939, in Manila.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Franklin Akins, and mother, Maxine Juanita Wallace. He was of the Baptist belief and enjoyed a career in farming.

He is survived by his sister Patricia A. Williams and her husband Miron of Jonesboro, and a nephew, Robert Williams of Marion.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
