Riverside placed three players in double figures as the Lady Rebels came away with a 54-40 victory over Walnut Ridge Monday night at Lake City.
Senior Sam Dunigan scored 16 points while juniors Natasha Coffey and Marisa Johnson added 11 apiece as the Rebels improved to 12-3 overall and 3-1 in 3AA North Conference action.
Riverside jumped to an 18-9 first period lead and led 26-18 at the half. Walnut Ridge pulled to within 37-31 entering the final quarter. The Rebels outscored the Bobcats 17-9 in the fourth stanza to pull away for the victory.
Emilee Hook scored eight points, Kelsey Turner tallied six, while Jamie Lawrence added two to round out the Rebel attack. Riverside finished 12-17 from the free throw line and hit two three pointers on the evening.
Vanessa Oliver scored 16 points while Rachel Looney added 10 more to pace the Bobcats. Walnut Ridge (4-6, 2-3) finished 10-13 from the foul stripe and hit two treys on the night.
In junior high action, Riverside rolled to a 40-24 win over the Bobcats. Katey Campbell led the way for the Rebels with 12 points while Briana Driver netted 11. Morgan Emery and Holly Dudley tallied five points apiece, Kailey Holt scored three while Michelle Cobb added two.
Chelsea Linebaugh led Walnut Ridge with 11 points.
The Junior Lady Rebels traveled to Nettleton Saturday morning for a first round match-up in the Nettleton Junior Invitational Tournament and came away with a 50-31 win over Piggott.
Katey Campbell and Briana Driver scored 17 points apiece to pace the Rebels. Morgan Emery and Michelle Cobb had five points each while Katlin Brewer, Kailey Holt and Christy Ward scored two points apiece.
Piggott was led by Penny McCluskey with 10 points.
Riverside will play Tuesday afternoon at 4:45 in a second round match-up with the Manila Junior Lady Lions.
The Senior Lady Rebels will open NEA Tournament play Friday afternoon at 4:30 against the winner of the Delaplaine-Tuckerman game.
