The Manila Lady Lions played only one of the two scheduled conference games last week due to weather. Manila hosted Rivercrest on Monday night and postponed the Thursday night match against Marianna.
Senior Lady Lions fell to Rivercrest 61-43.
Rivercrest took a 17-11 lead the first quarter ending the half 32-21. Rivercrest increased their lead the third quarter outscoring Manila 18-6 to end the third at 50-27.
Leading scorers for Manila were Michelle Daniel with 24 and Rachel Cheadle with 11. Others scoring were Kari Ramirez 4, Katie Veach 3, and Myra Earnest 1.
Hannah Lark led Rivercrest with 26 following by Samantha Smith with 11.
The junior high Lady Lions has an 11-2 record for the season losing to Rivercrest 34-29. Rivercrest took a first quarter 13-8 lead. The junior Lady Lions outscored Rivercrest the second quarter 10-6 to end the first half down by one 19-18. A close third quarter ended with Rivercrest ahead by only two at 25-23. Rivercrest held out for the win at 34-29.
Colleen Kemp led Manila with 9 followed by Savannah Jones 7, Kimberly Wise 6, Kelce Misner 3, Jonna Dodd 2, and Katie Donner 2.
