Roe Andrew Jackson, 89, of the Milligan Ridge Community, near Manila, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Irene Jackson, in October last year. Born at Batesville, he was the son of the late George and Florence Hawkins Jackson and had been a Milligan Ridge resident since 1938. He was a retired farmer and member of Milligan Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Norma Jackson, of Manila; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dewayne and Phyllis Jackson of Jonesboro, Calvin and Pat Jackson of Jonesboro, and Loy and Donna Jackson of Manila; three brothers, Thurmond Holt of Jonesboro, Raymond Holt of Blytheville and Waymon Holt of Manila; three sisters, Ludie Lewis of ElDorado, Alice Bunch of Jonesboro, and Leaetta Parker of Tuckerman.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Waymon Holt officiating. Burial was in Greene County Memorial Gardens at Paragould.
Active pallbearers were grandsons, Ricky Jackson, Dwight Jackson, Rodney Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Jeremy Jackson and Rusty Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers were the remaining grandchildren, Brock Haddock, Hunter Jackson, Wes Wallace, Clint Wallace, Chase Jackson, Kyle Covington, Clay Thomas Covington, Conner Jackson, Avery Jackson, Lea Ann Smithey, Robin Haddock, Christi Covington, Faith Jackson, Ashley Elinburg, Cassie Griffin, Kortnie Jackson, Heather Haddock, Whitney Jackson, Kourtnei Jackson, Emma Clair Jackson and Lyleigh Grace Haddock.
