John Crafton Hornberger, 70, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Manila, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Hilton Head Memorial Hospital in Hilton Head, S.C. Born at Manila, he was the son of the late Joe Gilbert and Lucie Hawkins Hornberger. He was a graduate of Blytheville High School and the University of Memphis and was a retired investment banker.
He is survived by two sons, John Hornberger, Jr., of Memphis, and Joe G. Hornberger, II of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Lucinda Leonard of Hilton Head, S.C., and Ann Clark of Counce, Tenn.; a brother, Jeff Hornberger of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Andrew Leonard, Robert Leonard, Lee Lakey, Chrissy Cobb, Joe Hornberger, III and Lisa Oakes.
Mr. Hornberger was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Keith Hornberger, and a grandson, Patrick Clark.
A graveside service was held Saturday at the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Waggoner, pastor of Manila First United Methodist officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. To sign online guest register, www.howardfuneralservice.com.
