James O. Ruple, 69, of Osceola, died Nov. 8, 2005, at SMC Regional Medical Center in Osceola. He was born Dec. 9, 1935, at Fulton, Miss. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. He had been a lifetime resident of Mississippi County.

He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Hopper, of Osceola; four sons, Billy Ruple of Fulton, Miss., James Ruple of Jonesboro, Terry Ruple of Zion, Ill., and Donald Ruple of Manila; a sister, Bessie Oaks, of Fulton, Miss., a brother, Dwight Hopper, of Belmont, Miss.; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arie Ruple.

A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Rivercrest Gardens in Marie with Brother Gary Andrews officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.
