Riverside used a furious fourth quarter rally as the Rebels pulled out a 44-42 squeaker over Weiner in non-conference action Tuesday night at Lake City.
The Rebels trailed the entire game before tying the score 29-29 entering the final quarter. Weiner, however, outscored the Rebels 9-2 to take a 37-31 lead with under 4:00 to play before the Rebels unleashed a full court press, forcing several Cardinal turnovers as Riverside stormed back for the win.
Glen Graham led Riverside with 19 points including several key free throws down the stretch. Garrett Weaver nailed three treys and finished with 12 points on the night. M.J. Emery and Cody Richardson scored four points apiece. Brandon Davis tallied three and Travis Mays added two. The Rebels played without starters Tyler Timms and Jordan Adcock who participated in the Overall State Tennis Championships in Little Rock.
Riverside finished 11-22 from the free throw line.
Weiner was paced by Jesse Ford who had 15 points while Kelce Walker scored 10.
Weiner was 13-21 from the foul line.
Riverside won a thrilling 43-39 junior high contest in overtime.
