Marmaduke jumped to a 19-4 first quarter lead and then held on for a 46-42 victory over Manila Tuesday night at Manila.
Cody Wells led the Lions with a game high 21 points while Kyle Misner also hit double figures with 12 points. Chase Shelton scored five, Austin Metheny added three, while Jackey Parker scored one to round out the Lion scoring. Manila was 6-8 from the foul line and hit six three pointers on the night.
Marmaduke was led by Chris Foresythe who scored 15 points while Justin Ward added 11. The Greyhounds were 8-13 from the foul line and hit eight three pointers.
In the junior high game, Marmaduke rolled to a 47-28 victory as the Greyhound's Justin Duke scorched the net for 26 points, including eight treys. Marmaduke finished the night with 11 treys as a team.
Manila was led by Luke McLaughlin with eight points. Blake Wheeler had six, Jacob Perez scored five, and Michael Shedd tallied three. Kyle Evans and Frankie Cowgill pitched in two, while Jonathan Rose added one. Manila was 5-9 from the free throw line and had one three pointer. Marmaduke led 13-9 after the first quarter, 25-16 at the half, and 36-24 after three periods of play.
