Lisa Simmons - Etowah

Lisa Simmons, 47, of Etowah Community near Osceola, formerly of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at her home. She was born July 22, 1958, at Harrisburg, the daughter of Jimmy Dean and Barbara Owens Dean. She was a homemaker and a member of the Neal's Chapel Baptist Church at Bondsville. She married Clayton Simmons on Feb. 14, 1988. Some of her hobbies included spending time with her family and making quilts.

Survivors include her husband, Clayton Simmons of the home; her mother, Barbara Owens Dean of Harrisburg: a son, Michael Kain of Manila; three daughters, Sara Simmons of Manila, Lorrie Bogard of Harrisburg, and Erica Stewart of Trumann; and three grandchildren, Kara Reeves, Brett Reeves and Zachary Bogard, all of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Dean.

The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg with Rev. Roy Kellum officiating. Burial was in Tyronza Cemetery at Tyronza.

Active pallbearers were Travis Senter, Robert Fountain, Jamie Fountain, Joey Bogard, Steve Tacker and Chris Stewart.

Honorary pallbearers were Jerome Simmons, Dennis Tacker, and Jimmy Carl King.
