Rachael Othella Thornton, 88, of Lake City died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical center in Jonesboro. Born in Lake City, she was a homemaker and attended Bono Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Reynolds Bratten of Jonesboro; a son, Lloyd W. Thornton of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Mark Reynolds, Derek Reynolds, Lee Bratten and Lisa Johnson and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Thornton; a son, Sonny Thornton, her parents, Theodore and Bertha Hinton Dacus; and a grandchild.

A private graveside service was held Saturday in Trinity Cemetery at Bono with George Hulett officiating. Langford-Bookout Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
