Goobertown

Allen Barnes, 58, of Goobertown died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Leachville, he lived most of his life in the Jonesboro-Paragould area. He was a retired welder with Peerless Manufacturing of Paragould and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include a son, Robert Allen Barnes of Bono; a daughter, Michelle Renee Crutcher of Rossville, Ga.; two brothers, Robert L. Barnes of Bay and Tony Barnes of Jonesboro; and three grandchildren, Bethany Lynn Barnes, Crystal Diane Barnes and Christopher Crutcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Uleda Casey Barnes.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday) in Pine Log Cemetery with Rev. Mike Blackwood officiating. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
