Robert C. Metcalf, 82, of Ash Flat died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born at Evening Shade, he lived in Ash Flat for four years after moving there from Bay. He was of the Church of Christ belief.
Survivors include a son, Allen Metcalf of Ash Flat; two daughters, Donna Stevenson of Ash Flat and Judy Hodge of Jonesboro; four sisters, Aline Williams of Caraway, Ruth Kunkel of Evening Shade, Madge Armstrong of Black Oak and Vista Finley of Monette; three grandchildren, Jason Stevenson of Ash Flat, Bob Metcalf of Jonesboro and Janoth Jackson of Cherokee Village; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janoth Metcalf; a son, Bobby Metcalf; his parents, Dotson and Annie Metcalf; two brothers; two sisters; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Monday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Harlan Wood officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Jason Stevenson, Bob Metcalf, James Morgan, Vance Crawford, Bo Midkiff, Daniel Nix and Bobby Nix.
Honorary pallbearers were James Morgan, Lonnie Hodge and Spring River Hospice Staff.
