Riverside boys improve to 4-0 Lady Rebels pick up first win

Riverside boys continued their winning ways on the tennis courts as the Rebels racked up three more victories last week. Led by the undefeated doubles team of Tyler Timms and Jordan Adcock, the Rebels rolled over Trumann and Marked Tree on Tuesday afternoon at Trumann before dispensing of Ridgefield Christian Thursday afternoon at Allen Park in Jonesboro.

The inexperienced Lady Rebels continued to show improvement winning their first match of the year, 1-0, over Marked Tree, while dropping a 3-0 decision to Trumann. Riverside was edged 4-3 by the Ridgefield girls as the Lady Rebels completed a 1-2 week.

Riverside boys downed Trumann 5-2 as Timms and Adcock blitzed the team of Dustin Jones and Clay Jones 6-0. The Rebel's Cody Richardson and Garrett Weaver defeated the Wildcat duo of B.J. Heilman and Justin Coker 6-2. Trumann salvaged the last doubles match of the day when the Jones brothers defeated Richardson and Weaver 6-3.

In singles action, Riverside's Cliff Kramer whitewashed Trumann's Jacque Tyler 6-0. The Rebel's Shawn Mathews won a thrilling 7-6 match over Wildcat TeJaye Moye while Glen Graham shut out B.J. Heilman 6-0. Trumann's Justin Coker won the Wildcat's only singles match 7-5 over Riverside's Randy Kramer.

Riverside downed Marked Tree 2-0 as Tyler Timms handled Mike Brown 6-2 before Jordan Adcock also handed Brown a 7-5 defeat.

Lady Rebels

On the girl's side, Trumann shut out Riverside 3-0 as Julie Henderson defeated Morgan Emery 6-1. The Cats Samantha Goans outlasted Riverside's Magan Adams 6-2. Henderson then defeated lady Rebel Holly Dudley 6-0.

In the only singles match between the two schools, Katey Campbell gave Riverside their only point with a 7-5 win over Marked Tree's Skye Pollard.

On Thursday, Timms started Riverside's win over Ridgefield by shutting out Noland Gilmore 6-0 in number one singles. Jordan Adcock then downed Trenton Hoggard 6-3 in number two singles. In a very close match at number three singles, Rebel Cliff Kramer outlasted Ridgefield's Austin Green 7-6, before Ridgefield came away with their lone point in singles play when Nathanial Ricca edged Shawn Mathews 6-4.

Timms and Adcock blitzed the Ridgefield team of Gilmore and Green 6-0 in number one doubles. Cody Richardson and Garrett Weaver defeated the Ridgefield team of Daniel Fields and Blake Emerson 6-3. Riverside's M.J. Emery and Glen Graham downed Jonathan Groves and Jared Williams 6-1. Corey Snyder and Shawn Mathews held on for a 7-5 win over Groves and Ricca 7-5. Ridgefield came away with their only point in doubles action with a 6-3 victory as Hoggard and Williams defeated the Riverside duo of Randy Kramer and Casey Hook.

On the girl's side, Ridgefield's Anna Ledbetter notched a 6-0 win over Lady Rebel Katey Campbell at number one singles. Natalie Reeves defeated Lady Rebel Morgan Emery 6-1 in number two singles while Katie Gillespie defeated Riverside(s Katie Brown 6-0 in number three singles.

In doubles action, Kristen Thrasher and Lindsey Morgan defeated Kailey Holt and Holly Dudley 6-2. The Riverside duo of Magan Adams and Emilee Hook beat Gillespie and Rachel Ricca 7-5 while Katey Campbell and Morgan Emery outlasted Thrasher and Hoggard 7-6. Emery and Adams then defeated Lindsey Morgan and Hannah Hogue 6-3.

Riverside will play at home for the first time this year with matches set for Monday and Tuesday at Lake City. The Rebels will host Weiner at 4:00 on Monday and Ridgefield Christian at 3:30 on Tuesday. Riverside will travel to Lepanto on Friday for a 4:00 matchup.
