Glenda L. Whitehead - Jonesboro

Glenda L. Whitehead, 55, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Monette, she lived most of her life in Joensoro. She was a retired cook at Presley's Drive Inn and was of the Pentecostal belief.

Survivors include two sons, Dallas Whitehead Jr. of Watervalley, Miss., and Robert Lee Whitehead of Jonesboro; two daughters, Lisa Phelps and Teresa Whitehead, both of Jonesboro; two brothers, Lowell D. Garner Jr. of Brookland and J.C. Garner of Ben Wheeler, Texas; a sister, Myrna Torrence of Willis Point, Texas; and two grandchildren, Jacob Allen Whitehead and Aaleigh Rena Whitehead. She was engaged to be married to Skipper Whitehead of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Whitehead, Sr., and by her parents, Lowell and Dorotha Stephens Garner.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial was in the Bay Village Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home. Ed Carter read the eulogy.

Pallbearers were Brannen Hollis, Jeffery Culbreath, Blaine Duncan, Nicky Cox, Tory Riley and Josh Thompson.
