William A. Stevens - Osceola

William A. Stevens, 67, of Osceola, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2004, at his residence. He was retired from American Greetings, was of the Baptist belief, a U.S. Marine veteran, and had lived in Osceola 26 years, formerly of Caraway.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Stevens, of the home; his mother, Vaudine Gramling of Caraway; a sister, Dorothy Puckett of Caraway; two sons, Rev. Rick Stevens of Caraway and Bruce Stevens of Osceola; three grandchildren, Kayla Stevens, Rebecca Stull, and Kara Stevens.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Stevens, two brothers, Jesse and David Stevens; a sister, Nancy Christiansen, and a granddaughter, Melissa Kelton.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday), at the Caraway First Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Vinson officiating. Burial will be in the Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Active pallbearers will be Billy Bishop, Kenny Moyer, J.R. Cunningham, Tony Stubblefield, Bill Riley, and Larry Barrett.
