J. C. Wright, 91, of Benton died Monday, August 8, 2005 at his home. He was born on January 5, 1914 in Manila to the late William and Spicy Bowman Wright. Mr. Wright was a U. S. Army veteran having served in Europe during WWII and was a delta farmer for 45 years. He was an avid member of the Benton Senior Adult Center.

In addition to his parents, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Lee Wright; one daughter, Diann Duty and husband Jess of Benton; two sons, Jerry Wright and wife Evelyn of Benton and James Larry Wright and wife Jean of Lexington, NC; one brother, Leo Wright; one sister, Lemino Piersol, eight grandchildren, Sarah Duty, Jarrett Clements, Jimmy Wright, Rick Wright, John Wright, Allen Wright, Pam Moore, and Wesley Wright, and eleven great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2005 at New Rosemont Memorial Park with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. Family visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with eulogy service to follow by his brother Leo Wright Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home.
