Kathryn Broom

Cornelia Kathryn Broom, 90, of Manila, widow of Lucian Broom, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at the Manila Nursing Center. Born Oct. 1, 1914, at Manila, she was the daughter of the late A.C. and Roxie Cherry Reed and had been a lifelong Manila resident. She was a member of the Manila First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Reed, and three sisters, Wilda Reed, Mozelle Dowell and Ruby Horner.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kaye and Billy Farrow of Manila; two sisters, Milda Reed and Novelle Childress, both of Manila; two grandchildren, Jonna Lackey and Billy Farrow, Jr., both of Manila; and three great-grandchildren, Mary Kathryn, Chloe Nicole and Elijah Reed.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday at Manila First United Methodist Church, Rev. Stephen Waggoner officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.

Pallbearers were Terry Carr, Dennis Farmer, Dan Lewis, Allen McCullough, Dan Lackey and Billy Farrow.
