Alma Brewer, 91, of Lake City, died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical center in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker, member of Monette First Baptist Church and had attended Bethabara Baptist Church. She was a long time resident of Mountain View and Monette.
She is survived by five sons, Terry Brewer of Monette, Gary Brewer of Lake City, Rick Brewer of Jonesboro, Kenny Brewer of Jonesboro, and Jerry Brewer of Texarkana, Texas; four daughters, Jean Shrader and Dixie Luff, both of Kelso, Wash., Gwynn Burton of San Jacinto, Calif., and Bertha Brewer of Mountain Home; 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Moffitt Brewer, and children, Bobby Lee Brewer, Shirley Ruth Spinks, and Denva Lee Imel, and her father and mother, Andrew Pickens Shannon and Sarah Ellen Reed.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at the Monette First Baptist Church in Monette with Rev. Larry Owens and Rev. Captain Lovell officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain View, under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
