A ribbon cutting and reception was held on Friday welcoming Dr. Tommy Wagner and staff to Manila.

Wagner Medical Clinic, 434 Highway 18 Bypass, is scheduled to open July 18.

Dr. Wagner's clinic is one of three businesses opening in the newly constructed complex.

Guests had the opportunity to tour the new 7,200 square foot facility. The clinic has six examining rooms, a conference room, two offices, a large reception area, a lab and x-ray room and two large private offices.

Danna Scott-Deaton will be serving as nurse practitioner; JoAnn Bruce lab technician; and Brooke Hastings, nurse. Office staff will include Karen Davis, Becky Anderson, Christy Neal, Linda Tucker and Kim Weatherly.

The office hours will be Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are being taken. The telephone number is (870) 561-3300.

"Right now we are accepting all insurance," Scott-Deaton said.

Scott-Deaton said she is very excited about having the opportunity to work in her hometown.

Dr. Wagner, a Manila native, said he is looking forward to serving the community.

The new facility will also house Wagner's Law Office on the north end of the building. It is scheduled to open in August.

Jackson's Pharmacy will be located on the south end of the complex. The pharmacy is owned by Jeremy, Matt and Faith Jackson. Faith will be serving as the pharmacist at the new store. There will be a door connecting the doctor's waiting area to the pharmacy or a front entrance to the pharmacy. Faith said she hopes to be open in August.

Following the ribbon cutting, a reception was held in the board room.

"We are delighted to have Dr. Wagner start his practice in Manila," Manila Mayor Clifford Veach said.
