Bradley Walling named Lake City Fireman

Wednesday, June 29, 2005

The Lake City council met on Monday, June 20, and approved a new fireman, closed Wednesday night ball games, and approved transfer of television service provider.

Bradley Walling was unanimously approved as a Lake City fireman.

Mayor Jerry Bowman and city aldermen agreed to not allow scheduling of any ball games at the city park on Wednesday nights.

The council approved signing-off on the proposal for Ritter Communications to purchase the city's cable television service from Cebridge Connections.

Alderman Bill Reeves presented some changes to be made to the zoning ordinance. After a discussion the changes were tabled until the proposed terminology could be changed.

The council agreed to allow Mayor Bowman to make the decision concerning the approval to have a carnival to come to town.

The council discussed a request by Devon Martin's wife that his fire department check be sent to her. Martin is terminally ill and is currently drawing a firemen's pension check. The council took no action, but referred the case back to LOPFI, the state agency that handles Lake City firemen's pension funding.

The next regularly scheduled council meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. July 18 at city hall.
