Activities announced by Caraway Park Commission

A karaoke contest will be held on Friday, July 1. at 6:30 p.m. in the Reuben Stubblefield Memorial Park in Caraway. There will be two divisions: Youth Division, ages up to 15, and the Adult Division, ages 16 and up. A $100 cash prize will be awarded to the first place winners in each division. Participants must provide their own music. Participants can pre-register by mailing forms to: Kenny Weathers, PO Box 41, Caraway, AR 72419. Forms are available at Central Kwik Shop in Caraway. Participants can also register the night of the event. The contest will be presetned by the Caraway Parks Commission and sponsored by the CowBoy Grill in Caraway.

Serious Trouble will perform at the karaoke contest. Entry fee for the contest is $5, and general admission to the event is $2.

On Saturday, July 2, a "Best of Show Bike" motorcycle contest will be held at 4:00 p.m. just west of the bandstand in the Caraway City Park. A $100 cash prize and trophy will be awarded to the first place winner, with the second and third place winners receiving a trophy.

At 6:00 p.m., the annual concert at Reuben Stubblefield Memorial Park will begin with the annual favorite, Nuthin' Fancy. At 8:00 p.m., Ritter Agribusiness will present Nashville singer/songwriter Steff Mahan. Back by popular demand, Mahan is returning to Caraway following the release of her second album. She has played in live music venues all across the United States and in Hong Kong. Immediately following the concert, there will be prize giveaways totaling $1,000, and at 10:00 the traditional annual fireworks display choreographed to patriotic music will be held. Bleachers are provided, and lawn chairs are welcomed.
