Tommie Bell Holden - Lake City

Tommie Bell Holden of Lake City died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at her residence.

Born at Monette, she lived in the Monette area all of her life. A homemaker, she ran a grocery store in the Popular Ridge Community and sold Avon. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake City.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Blanche Holden and Garry and Shirley Holden, both of Lake City, Larry and Tommie Jean Holden of Trumann and Dennis and Pam Holden of Monette; a daughter and son-in-law, Polly and Don Owens of Caraway; two brothers, O.T. Powell of Amarillo, Texas, and Bill Powell and wife, Cleda Powell, of Blytheville; 12 grandchildren, Theresa Roberts, Jerry Holden, Scott Holden, Randall Holden, Todd Holden, Tony Holden, Richard Holden, Bart Holden, Melissa Huey, Debbie Wicker, Cortney Woodard and Chuck Owens; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Holden, her parents, Bryan and Mary Powell, and a brother.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City with Bill Passmore and Bob Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Randall Holden, Todd Holden, Richard Holden, Tony Holden, Jerry Holden, Scott Holden, Bart Holden, Chuck Owens and great-grandsons, Will Holden and Jerry L. Holden II.

Honorary pallbearers will include Lonnie Armstrong, Jerry Crigler, Vernon Dowless, Marie Terrell, Louise McFarlin and Charles Terrell.
