The town of Dell is celebrating its 100th anniversary and will have a community party.
The Dell Post Office will be selling a pictorial cancellation commemorating this special event. "These are limited and will be a great keepsake," said Postmaster Linda Young.
The fun-filled day will include door prizes, special activities including horse and buggy rides, sack races, small train rides for children and plenty of food. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and everyone is welcome to attend the festivities.
A history of the town will be presented from 10 a.m. until noon. The program will include a PowerPoint presentation, as well as a "voices from the past" segment. Town leaders from the past, including school and elected officials, will speak during the program.
Special recognition will be given to the oldest man and woman present, the people who traveled the farthest to attend, and the Dell School graduating class with the most members present. Numerous classes will hold reunions during that weekend.
At 1 p.m. there will be outside activities for the children.
