Klayton Seyler signs with Ouachita Baptist University

Jonesboro High School Senior Klayton Seyler recently signed a letter of intent to play golf at Ouachita Baptist University. Seyler was a twp-year letter winner for the Hurricanes after moving from Manila, where he qualified for the Class AAA State Tournament and made the All-State Team as a sophomore. He won the Big Lake Country Club Championship in 2003.

Jonesboro High had a record of 75-9 during Seyler's two seasons on the team. His team won the AAAAA-East Conference Championship in 2003, finished second in the Class AAAAA State Championship in 2004, and won the Hurricane Classic both years.

Seyler has also been a member of the Fellowship of Christian Students, the Future Business Leaders of America and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Jonesboro High School.

Seyler has been spending a week at OBU each summer while attending a church camp.

Kris Seyler, Klayton's oldest brother, also played four years golf at OBU.

After signing his letter of intent, Seyler thanked his family, teammates, JHS golf coach Phil Parker, Ridge Point County Club pro Mike Socha and Jonesboro Country Club pro Lee Brun.

Klayton is the son of Dennis and Candy Seyler of Jonesboro and the grandson of Clifford and Norma Veach of Manila.
