Norma Florine Trantham, 89, of Manila, died Monday, May 23, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Born at Gadsden, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Thaddie Casey Nicks and had been a Manila resident for most of her life. She was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church in Manila and the widow of Floyd Trantham.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jessie and Joy Trantham of Blytheville; four grandchildren, sherry Bowman of Little Rock, Kim Rhodes of Meridian, Miss., Angela Bost of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Carla Edney of Crossett; nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Jimmy Wayne Trantham.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
