Mary Frances Ashley, 77, of Osceola, died Friday, Mary 20, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Whitten on November 5, 1927, to Andrew Thompson Bullard and Nora Frances Chandler Bullard, she was a lifetime area resident. She was a housewife and a member of Keiser United Methodist Church and frequently attended Manila Methodist Church with her family.

She is survived by a son, Virgil "Sonny" Ashley, III and his wife, Mary Jon, of Manila; a sister, Maxine Watson of Tyronza; two grandchildren, Jared Stutts of Manila, and Amanda Mahan of Cabot; one great-grandchild, Libby Stutts of Manila.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Ashley, Jr., in 1978; three brothers, a sister; and her parents.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mississippi County Memorial gardens in Osceola with Brother Craig Russell officiating. Roller-Swift Funeral Home of Osceola was in charge of arrangements.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Manila Methodist Church or Keiser Methodist Church.
