Raymond Nathaniel Kirksey, 89, of St. Joseph, Mich., died Friday, May 6, 2005, at Rose Arbor Hospital residential facility at Kalamazoo, Mich.
Born in Jonesboro, he was a member of the St. Joseph Church of Christ. He was a former resident of the Hancock Community.
Surviving are three sons, Danny Kirksey of Stevensville, Mo., Jerry Kirksey of St. Joseph and Dennis Kirksey of Baroda, Mo.; two daughters, Glenna Corzine of Coloma, Mo., and Joyce Peek of Bridgman, Mo.; two brothers, Delmar Kirksey of St. Joseph and Jerrell Kirksey of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Gladys McCord of Caraway and Doris Dunkerson of Black Oak; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Molene Howell Kirksey; his parents, W. Leonard and Jennie Gibson Kirksey; a son, a sister and three brothers.
The funeral was held Wednesday in the Dey-Florin Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in St. Joseph with Bruce Tanner officiating. Burial was in North Shore Memory Gardens in St. Joseph.
