Helen Margaret Wright, 83, of Smithton, Mo., formerly of Manila, the widow of Floyd Wright, died Thursday, April 8, 2005, at Four Season's Living Center in Sedalia, Mo.
Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lizzie Rice Newcomb and had been a lifelong Manila resident before making her home in Smithton six years ago. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family.
Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Wright of Smithton, Mo., Judy Manning of Smithton, Mo., Kathy Crawford of Sanford, N.C., and Lisa Holt of Jonesboro; a brother, Harold Newcomb of Blytheville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wright; a brother, Charles Newcomb; and a sister, Kathryn Tatum.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
