Dewey Davis Cope Jr. - Paragould

Dewey Davis Cope Jr., 77, of Paragould died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at his home.

Born at Leachville, he lived 21 years in California before moving to Jonesboro and then to Paragould 23 years ago. He was an auto mechanic and operated Cope's Body Shop at Jonesboro for several years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Jaquess Cope of the home; a daughter, Mary Thatch of Paragould; three sons, Jimmy Sharp of Castroville, Calif., Steve Sharp of Kennett, Mo., and Danny Sharp of Fenville, Mich.; a sister, Mary Pyburn of Lake City; five brothers, Jerry Cope, Gary Cope, Roger Cope, Billy Cope and Terry Cope, all of Jonesboro; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with burial in Pruett Cemetery near Paragould.

Pallbearers were Allen Thatch Sr., Allen Thatch Jr., William Russell, James Fry, Perry Cope and Scotty Cope.
