The Riverside Lady Rebels got their season off to a great start with three victories this past week. Riverside started the week off by defeating Trumann 10-7 at Lake City as Samantha Dunigan picked up the victory, while also driving in three runs.
Kelsey Turner went 2-4 at the plate with three RBIs to aid the Rebel cause.
Riverside then played arch rival BIC on Tuesday afternoon at Caraway and came away with a 8-4 victory. Riverside used a big three run sixth inning to put the game away as Dunigan again went the distance on the mound for the Lady Rebels to pick up the pitching victory. Dunigan fought threw the sleet and cold weather, allowing four runs, on six hits, walking three, while striking out six as she improved to 2-0 on the year.
Kassie Douglas and Magan Adams were both 1-3 at the plate with two RBIs each for the 2-0 Lady Rebels. Jessica Williard went 2-3 with an RBI, while Rachel Dunigan was 1-3 with one RBI to lead the Mustang attack.
The Rebels capped off their perfect week by thrashing East Poinsett County 20-2 as Dunigan again picked up the pitching victory as she and the Rebels to improve to 3-0 on the season. Amanda Milligan paced the Rebel hitting attack, while going 4-4 and driving in three runs. Audrey Booth was a perfect 3-3 at the plate with four RBIs while Jesse Mann went 2-3 also with four RBIs to lead the lady Rebel onslaught.
