BIC claims 3AA Conference title

Buffalo Island Central completed their third straight undefeated 3AA North Conference season with a 60-29 thumping of the Rector Cougars Tuesday night at Monette.

The Mustangs (32-3, 14-0 3AA North) were led by Cord Rose who scored a team high 13 points. Brooks Taylor contributed nine while Brandon Ballard and Garrett Qualls pitched in eight apiece.

BIC jumped to a 17-0 first quarter lead and held a unbelievable 41-2 halftime lead. BIC led 53-18 going into the fourth quarter as the Mustangs emptied their bench.

Max Wyss and Nathan Wyatt led Rector with five points each.

In the junior high game, BIC outlasted the Cougars in a high scoring 74-61 shootout.

BIC will return to action Tuesday night as they host Armorel at Monette, before hitting the road on Thursday to take on Rivercrest.

BIC's junior boys will play Monday night in the District Tournament at Caraway.
