Bernard Berry was presented his past masters apron at a special Masonic Lodge meeting, in Caraway, on January 18.

Jeff Rea presented Berry with the apron in recognition of his service during 2005 as Caraway Masonic Lodge #733 Worshipful Master. Berry has also served as the lodge secretary for 24 years and continues in that capacity.

Berry is a very active community leader and has served as Caraway Lion's Club secretary for 14 years. He has been instrumental in working with the Caraway fourth of July celebration each year, and has served in almost every capacity. Berry and his wife Joyce attend the First Baptist Church, in Caraway.

A special master's wall, at the lodge hall, displays photos of Worshipful Masters spanning 70 years, since the lodge's beginning. The Caraway Masonic Lodge was chartered on November 20, 1935, with eight charger members.

A dinner was served following the presentation and over 40 members, family members and widows of masons were in attendance. Berry's wife, Joyce, their son Jerry and granddaughter Jera were in attendance at the masonic presentation.

Rea is the new 2005 Caraway lodge Worshipful Master. The masons meet the second and fourth Thursday nights, every month.
