An early morning house fire at 4361 West State Highway 18 near Manila, claimed the life of a mother and her three children.
According to reports, the fire was reported at approximately 2:20 a.m. Thursday by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the house.
According to Manila Fire Chief Don Nunnally, when the firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke and fire emitting out of the west side. Upon entering, the fire was knocked down and the victims were pulled from the house. The coroner pronounced all four dead at the scene.
The Manila Fire Department, Police Department and ambulance service answered the call and were on hand until 5:30 p.m.
Victims are Tena Lyvonne Rinehart, 39; Tonya M. Tomblin, 17, a senior at Manila High School; Brian Keith Rinehart, 14, a student at Manila Junior High School; and Robyn R. Rinehart, 11, a student at Manila elementary school.
It is believed that the fire started from a space heater that was located in the southwest bedroom of the residence.
The funeral for the family was held Saturday at the Manila School gymnasium.
